TWINS ANNOUNCE 2012 ENHANCEMENTS AT TARGET FIELD

At the Minnesota Ballpark Authority Board meeting on November 18, 2011, the Twins announced that they will invest more than $1.3M in capital improvements and equipment for Target Field in 2012.  Included in these investments are:



Public Art

  1. •An additional former Twins player will be honored with the installation of a bronze sculpture.

  2. •Art will be updated throughout the facility.

  3. •Additional memorabilia displays will be installed.


  4. Interiors

  5. •The Suite Level hallway carpeting will be replaced, wood chair rails installed to protect Suite interior walls and wood tabletops will be replaced.

  6. •Concrete Flooring in the 1st and 3rd Base Lounges will be resurfaced.

  7. •Modifications will be made to the retail warehouse, grounds crew and maintenance offices.


  8. Accessibility

  9. •Automated door controls will be added at the entrance points to the wheelchair seating locations at the 1st and 3rd Base Lounges and the Champion’s Club.


  10. Security, Technology, Fan Safety

  11. •Additional access card readers and video surveillance will be installed.

  12. •Additional wireless access points will be added to increase Wi-Fi coverage within the ballpark.

  13. •Swinging freight elevator doors will be replaced with “roll-up” doors on the Main and Terrace Concourses to enhance fan safety.


  14. Food and Beverage

  15. •As we evaluate the levels of success for various food concepts, a few concepts will be modified/replaced with products yet to be determined.



  16. These improvements will be implemented to enhance the overall guest experience, concession operations and appearance of the facility.
